The problem. "Up NEPA?" is the eternal Nigerian question. You never know if there's light until you get home — food spoiling in the freezer, work interrupted, plans ruined.
The idea. A live map of electricity status, powered by the people experiencing it. See light? Tap "Light dey" 💡. No light? Tap "E no dey" 🌑. Ten seconds, no login, no name — and everyone in your area sees it instantly.
Why anonymous. No accounts, no emails, no tracking. Low friction means honest reports, and your privacy stays yours. We couldn't identify you if we tried.
The bigger vision. The DisCos publish feeder "bands" promising 20+ hours of light a day for Band A areas (per NERC regulations; classifications from the DisCos' Oct 2026 feeder lists). LightDey shows what residents report is actually happening — area by area, street by street. Promise vs. reality, in data.
How it works. Reports from the last 60 minutes are weighted by recency. 3+ reports form a verdict: ≥65% "light dey" → 🟢, ≤35% → 🔴, in between → 🟡 mixed (some streets have it, some don't). One report per area every 30 minutes keeps it honest.
